Bold and Bright Black-And-White Animals
Published in Library Binding by Walker & Co Library (October, 1998)
Average review score:

Every teacher should have this book.I am a soon-to-be-teacher and have used this book for both art and life-science lessons. The striking illustrations really made Bold and Bright... a great choice for introducing contrast in an art lesson. And, although the information presented about each of the animals is minimal, I found the book to be a useful supplement to how creatures depend upon their visual appearance for survival. I especially liked how the book pointed out that not all black and white animals have those colorings for the same reasons. For instance, some use their color for camoflauge, while others use it to point out to preditors that they are poisonous. I'm really glad I have this book as part of my growing classroom library--the kid's loved it, and I'm sure I'll refer to it over and over again, for many different lessons.

Book of 3 Circles
Published in Paperback by White Wolf Publishing Inc. (September, 2001)
Average review score:

Wonderful Supplement to Exalted MagicIt's true that the core Exalted book was kind of light on the magic - this book makes up for that! The Book of 3 Circles is a combination spell compendium and collection of hearthstones and artifacts. It also presents a good deal of background on creating new spells, artifacts, and Manses. I highly recommend this to any who play Exalted.

The Book of Beasts
Published in Textbook Binding by Prometheus Books (January, 1969)
Average review score:

12th Century BiologyThis is indeed an excellent book for those interested in history and biology. ~The Book of Beasts~ is a translation from Latin of a Twelfth century bestiary. It was written as a serious scientific study of zoology, despite giving equal precedence to dogs, horses, lions, dragons, and unicorns. This was the world of wildlife as the people of the 1100's saw it. It includes such beliefs as "when a lioness gives birth to her cubs, she brings them forth dead and lays them up lifeless for three days - until thier father, coming on the third day, breathes in thier faces, and makes them alive." (direct quote) The book also has an extensive appendix, detailing the history of the original manuscript of this bestiary, and information on ancient bestiaries as a whole. Further, the author tells us "No Latin prose bestiary has ever before been printed, even in Latin. This is the first and only English translation in print. . ." This is an invaluable reference to any students of historical sciences, especially biological/zoological sciences, or to any simply interested in the subjects. Very highly recommended.

The Book of Star Light
Published in Hardcover by White Eagle Pub Trust (October, 2000)
Average review score:

praise for Star LightThis is truly a wonderful book! The splendid colors are soothing and pleasing to the eye, while the theme of focusing on the Star image for inner strength and healing is gently brought home on each page. This reminds me of a visual mantra, so to speak, a way of easily connecting with the universal love energy within us all. I have personally used the Star image not only for myself, but for sending healing energy to family and friends. I believe it has been very helpful. For readers desiring to learn more about White Eagle's teachings, there are many more books available on this site to explore.

Book of the Yorkshire Dales: Landscapes Through Time
Published in Paperback by Trafalgar Square (September, 1997)
Average review score:

Archaelogy brought to lifeTo some the Yorkshire Dales is a a wild landscape of bleak moors, to others a geological and botanical paradise, but above all it shows traces of the successes and failures of 12,000 years of human activity. This introduction to the archaeology and landscape history of the Yorkshire Dales ranges from the geological background to the industrial archeology of the 20th century. Includes description of hunter gatherers, the first farmers, Roman occupation, the "Dark Ages", post-Norman conquest, and lead mining. Includes many aerial photographs, drawings, b&w and colour pictures. Well illustrated. A must for anyone interested in this subject, or planning to visit this "off the beaten path" part of England.

A blueprint to move away from plain fabric bordersThis book is packed full of not just pieced borders but detailed instructions on how to create your own borders. It's an excellent book for those who are tired of plain fabric borders and want to add interest to their quilts by including the border in the overall design of their quilts. There are photo's of the same quilt that has different borders, which are excellent for showing how a border can enhance a quilt.
